Youth Training on Preparing and Showing Meat Goats

Preparing and Showing Meat Goats: Training for Alabama Youths
Aug. – Oct., 2015
Venue and time: TBA

The purpose of this training is to teach the youths (19 years and younger) from Alabama and aware their parents and guardians on the major aspects of preparing and showing meat goats. There are several aspects that youths and their parents/guardian must be familiar with for successfully competing in goat shows and win. Youth participation in goat shows can be rewarding in many ways, such as learning about goats and their care and management from the very early age, developing leadership and confidence while participating in the actual shows, and gaining show skills. This kind of involvement may even help these youths to choose their career in animal science, veterinary science, farming, or other animal-related occupations as they grow up. More information about the event is presented in the Program Flyer and Agenda.

Participation to this training is free; however, registration is required by August 11, 2015 for management purpose. Click here to register online. Click here for registration form. Training venue and time will be determined to match the availability and convenience of registered trainees and trainers.
