Integrated Approach for Preventing Gastrointestinal Parasites in Small Ruminants & FAMACHA Certification Training

8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, June 12, 2026

Caprine Research & Education Unit ,  250 Campus Road, Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL 36088

The purpose of this event is to help participants develop knowledge about the gastrointestinal parasite challenge in small ruminants being raised in Alabama and neighboring states and various approaches to prevent this challenge.  Gastrointestinal parasites are posing major health problems on goats and sheep grazing in the Southeast pastures because of this region’s suitable climatic condition for the survival and development of these parasites.  This event will provide an opportunity for farmers, scientists, educators, and students come together, share research-based information and experiences, discuss them, and enrich their knowledge and skills in preventing the gastrointestinal parasites in grazing small ruminants. More information about the event is presented in the Agenda.

Preregistration by May 30, 2026, is required for management purpose.  Register and secure your seat on time. Working lunch will be served for pre-registrants.
